In Mexico, the 2 major types of corporations are the Sociedad Anonima (Corporation) and Sociedad de Responsabilidad Limitada (similar to a Limited Liability Corporation or a LLP in British Columbia).
There are other Mexican corporate structures like the Sociedad por Acciones Simplificada (like a Sole Proprietorship – and it is the only sole shareholder company), the SAPI (Stock Investment Promotion Company), the Sociedad Civil (Professional Corporations), Sociedad en Nombre Colectivo (similar to a General Partnership in British Columbia).
There is also the possibility to set up a Mexican branch.
Should you plan to do business in Mexico, get off on the right foot and seek Mexican legal advice.
